Over the past 3+ years (or so, do any of us remember time? :/ lol), I’ve been dealing with severe phys and neuro Lyme. Gotta love Borreliosis and all of its glamorous co-infections. Ha! (That was a fake “Ha,” I won’t even fib.) In so many ways, so much of [this illness] has consisted of what I would easily describe as “walking through the fires of hell.” But, some of the coal is beginning to take the shape of diamonds…I’m currently receiving treatment in Tampa and for the first time in what seems like lifetimes, I’m experiencing moments of clarity.
Long story short, I was once a freelance writer. I got paid to write sentences for magazines that sat on shelves at Walmart, Barnes and Noble, etc. I’m reaching breakthroughs – THANKS TO THE HELP OF SO SO SO MANY AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEINGS and it is my job to pay it forward. It is my calling to help others. That is one thing that my heart screams. So, I’m gonna listen to it. I have no choice. 🙂
I not only believe, but I KNOW that my ability to write will return, and I plan to — nope. scratch that – I WILL BE writing a book about my experiences, as well as the battles of others of whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting during this insane journey. I hope that it will help to bring more awareness and perhaps even more importantly more peace and more understanding for everyone in regard to this monster of a disease. (Pardon the many “more’s. :))
Once all of the ink has dried, I would like to donate the proceeds of its sales to the various legit Lyme Foundations out there. One of them, being yours, of course. I would like to donate a large portion to Avril Lavigne’s Foundation as well. If you know of any other productive and legitimate organizations, please feel free to let me know. Whether the book sells 500 copies or 500,000, every bit can do nothing but help someone else.
It might be a while, I’m still in the middle of treatment. (19 plus weeks and counting, here in the Tampa area. However, the past two weeks have begun to produce portions of my old personality, only a more polished and appreciative version. Hopefully, in another month I’ll be able to begin piecing together my words for the draft. It might be a while, but I promise, upon its completion – all of the money will be given away Any and all suggestions in regard to where I might be able to forward the proceeds once that day comes will be greatly appreciated.
