Emily F Lyme Story

Medfield, MA

Infected: 2020
Diagnosed: 2021

Sometime during the summer and fall of 2020, I was bitten by a tick. I did not know that I had been bitten; I did not have a rash and never saw the tick. For the next ten months, I would search for answers as the list of unexplained symptoms continued to grow. During that time, I would also see ten different doctors in the hope that someone could help me find answers.
The symptoms started with panic attacks, anxiety, and irregular hormones, and grew into shakes, jitters, sore legs and arms, and night sweats. It felt like each day I was adding new symptoms that had nothing to do with the last and I couldn’t piece them together. I spent countless hours researching and every time I was told “It’s all in your head” it fueled me even more to find answers and conquer whatever was taking over my body.
Someone suggested that my health issue could be Lyme Disease. I immediately started researching Lyme Disease and my symptoms and everything that I was experiencing was directly related to Lyme Disease. I had a false negative on the Western Blot Test but also booked an appointment with a Lyme Literate Doctor who ran several tests including the iGenex Lyme Disease Tests.
The tests came back positive for Lyme Disease and Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever Borrelia SPP that had caused a food sensitivity to casein (the protein found in cow’s milk). With the help of my doctor, we were able to come up with a treatment plan and I was able to start to recover. While recovering and healing from Lyme disease was a long road, I was glad to have a diagnosis and get back to being healthy.
I recently wrote a book about my experience with Lyme Disease and Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever Borrelia SPP “This Is How I Feel: Explaining Lyme Disease and Tick-Borne Illness Symptoms” to help others battling Lyme Disease and Tick-Borne Illnesses.
