Bay Area Lyme Spotlight Series

“Every listen helps fund Lyme research.”

– Steve Ehrlich

Steve Ehrlich emigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area from South Africa in 1989. Chronic Lyme Disease cut short his career in the software industry, and he turned to writing music. He has released three contemporary albums with his virtual band, The Inter Section. He spends his days on his sofa writing music with his doggie, Frankie, hitting play and paws when needed. The first two jazz albums and his latest – a Latin-inspired acoustic EP – are now available on all the streaming apps, and all the proceeds will be donated to Bay Area Lyme.

Steve tells us about the albums:

Steve Erlich Jazz album

“Over a year ago, I described how I created a jazz album from my sofa. If you bought or listened to it, thank you! The proceeds were donated to Bay Area Lyme. We ‘Lymies’ know that every day brings new challenges, so I thought, ‘What’s one more challenge?’ and started on another jazz album straight away. After somehow assembling 25 musicians from 10 countries to play on it, Going Places by my virtual band, The Inter Section, is available on all the music apps, [including Spotify]. It’s a foot-tapper and smile-creator. Please share with friends and add to your playlist – every listen helps fund Lyme research.”

Steve ErlichAnd the latest news from Steve is that, in June 2026, he and his band released their third album, titled Rhythmic. Unlike the first two collections, Rhythmic is a Latin-inspired acoustic album featuring guitar, bass, and percussion. As before, all proceeds go to Bay Area Lyme. We hope that you’ll discover the music and help the cause. We are deeply grateful to Steve, his fabulous band, and you all for supporting Bay Area Lyme Foundation.  Listen and enjoy here!
