Share with care. Please use good judgment in writing your story – offensive language and explicit material are prohibited. Specific treatment details should not be shared either. (Treatment approaches may be shared but this forum is not for sharing specific prescriptions for individual treatment.)

Protect your privacy. Understand that all content on the web is public. While we will never share full names or other identifying information (first name and county/state of residence only), all content is ultimately searchable and accessible. We want you to share openly but ask that you keep in mind that the story may well be read by family members, neighbors, or employers. You should only share what you are comfortable sharing publicly. If under the age of 18 you must have the permission of your parents to share your story.

Be concise. Your story undoubtedly has many chapters, however we are looking for the abridged version. We recommend aiming for no more than 800-1000 words. If you can tell it in less than 500 words, even better.

Pictures tell a thousand words. We invite you to share photos – and need a thumbnail headshot to attach to your story and post on our “wall” of faces. For best results, photos should be at least 640 px wide; headshots at least 500 px square and should be in one of the following formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .gif. We can crop and resize larger photos. By submitting photos, you are explicitly granting Bay Area Lyme the right to use these images and warranting that any such images are not subject to copyright claims by any third party.

Logistics. We do review all submissions and while we will generally publish the story in the author’s own words, stories may be edited and we cannot guarantee that all content received will be published, nor how quickly. However, we will notify you before publishing your story.

The technicalities. By submitting your story, you are agreeing to the Terms of Use and website policies of the Bay Area Lyme Foundation. For more information about the terms of use and our privacy policy, please click here.
