Bay Area Lyme offers free in-service education and training regarding tick-bite prevention to residential outdoor schools, outdoor environmental education, and professional outdoor program/field trip providers on-site at your facility.

The in-service ensures that adults working at your facility know how to protect themselves against Lyme and tick-borne diseases, and enhances the safety of your client teachers and students. This program is relevant for naturalists, outdoor educators and teachers, park rangers, outdoor sport and recreation instructors, docents, EMTs, first aid providers, firefighters, volunteers and anyone who is working in a position responsibility for the health and safety of others in the outdoors.

Our presentation runs 60-90 minutes, depending on your schedule, includes a short video overview, a brief power point presentation, and provides educational materials and handouts to keep your staff up-to-date regarding the possible health implications of tick bites. We also provide information (including sample documentation and forms) for administrators regarding correct protocols and procedures in the event of a tick-bite incident.

You can read about how effective our visit was to a Residential Outdoor Science School in our blog here.

“Your presentation was awesome and very informative. All the staff were so impressed by the quality of information at your disposal. Thank you so much!”
